As anyone will tell you, when it comes to the telling of a story, no one does it quite like the good folks at Disney•Pixar and never is this more true than in their the new Disney• Pixar movie Coco.
In this brilliantly animated animated feature, which is done to new levels in such a way that you have to remind yourself that it is indeed an animated feature, Coco will tap into your emotions in ways that you could never image.
Quite simply, it is a movie about family and for the family. In a way that only the story tellers at Pixar can do, they have captured emotions that each and every one of us have felt at some point in our lives, and told the tale in such a way that it will have you leaving the theater feeling as though someone just through their arms around you and embraced you in the biggest, warmest hug ever, and showed you that you were loved. It is a movie that in the simplest and most complex ways, celebrates the family, what it means to be family and more importantly the legacy and traditions that we leave behind that become a part of the generations to come, long after we have gone.
It embraces who we are, and it reminds you that we will live in the lives that we touch and that at the end of the day, we all come from somewhere and there is nothing more important in life than to remember that, celebrate that and honor that.
Quite simply, in every way that matters, Coco, is a movie about family and the love that brings them together, and lives on.In one of the most beautiful and poignant stories ever told, this is a movie that will make you laugh, yes make you cry, have you singing and dancing along and will be one you will be back over and over again to see, taking in more and more each time you see it. It transcends the generations, and has something for everyone whether you are young or young at heart and it invites you to take that journey that in the end, connects us all.
Once every year, our ancestors come back to our world to see family and friends but no living person has ever visited their world ….until now. On November 22, you are invited to take the journey that connects us all in Disney•Pixar’s Coco.
Into each and every one of us, there is a history or legacy or a story that makes us who we are today. It could be in the way we all hold our forks when we eat, or the love of music, or an artistic ability that we were never quite sure where it came from until you stumble upon drawing of a great grandparent from when we were their age and suddenly we see ourselves in them and them in ourselves.
It could be subtle-something in the way that our child smiles at us that transports us back to a moment in time looking up at a great, great uncle and seeing glimmers of that same smile, or it could be the fact that every member of the family has the innate ability to move with the music. It’s not something spoken, it’s who we are inside.
It’s the legacy handed down through the generations that is a part of our being and a part of our soul and that continues to live on long after we are gone. This is Disney•Pixar’s Coco , the coming of age story of discovery and finding out who we are, where we came from and what makes us the person we are today.
